Privacy Policy
Potenz collects no personal information through this website itself, but it uses Google advertising and Google Analytics, which do. This policy explains what Google receives, what your browser stores locally, and the rights you have.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Potenz ("Potenz", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the website at potenz.tech and its module demonstrations (together, the "Site").
The short version: the Site is a product demonstration. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, no contact forms, and no payment processing, and we ourselves collect no personal information from you. We do use two Google products — advertising, which pays for the Site, and analytics, which tells us which pages are read — and Google collects information about your visit through both. What Google receives, and how to limit it, is set out below and in our Cookie Policy.
We have written this policy to describe what actually happens on this Site rather than to reserve every right a longer template might claim. If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
Who we are
The person responsible for this Site, and the data controller for any personal information described in this policy, is:
- Potenz
- Sole proprietor, Pakistan
- Email: info@potenz.tech
Potenz is an independent software project operated by a sole proprietor based in Pakistan. It is not an incorporated company and has no company registration number. Correspondence reaches the operator directly at the email address below.
Information we do not collect
Because many privacy policies are vaguer than they need to be, we want to be specific. Through this Site we do not:
- Ask you to create an account, sign in, or supply a name, postal address, phone number, or payment details.
- Operate contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, demo-request forms, or any other lead-capture mechanism.
- Run session-recording or heat-mapping tools, social media tracking pixels, or any tracking technology beyond the Google tags described in this policy.
- Set any cookie of our own. Every cookie described in our Cookie Policy is set by Google, not by us, and we are unable to read them.
- Embed comment systems, chat widgets, or video players that would profile you.
- Receive payment of any kind in exchange for personal information. Note that serving personalised advertising is nonetheless treated as sharing under California law — see Disclosure below.
Information you choose to provide
The Site publishes an email address, info@potenz.tech. If you write to us, we receive your email address, any name your mail client attaches, and whatever you choose to put in the message and its attachments.
We use that information for one purpose: to read your message and reply to it. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list, and we do not pass your message to third parties except as described under Disclosure below.
Please use your judgement about what you send. Ordinary email is not an encrypted channel, so it is not a suitable way to send sensitive personal data, credentials, or confidential business records.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually every website, the servers that deliver this Site generate technical logs as a by-product of answering requests. Depending on our hosting provider's configuration, these may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp.
These logs are created and retained by our hosting provider for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and reliability. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors, we do not combine them with any other data set, and we do not attempt to identify individuals from them.
Separately, and outside our control, loading an advertisement sends a request to Google. That request necessarily carries your IP address, your browser and device characteristics, and the address of the page you are viewing, and it may read or set cookies belonging to Google.
Google uses that information to select, cap, and measure advertising. It acts as an independent controller of that data rather than as a processor working on our behalf: we do not receive it, we cannot see which ads you were shown, and we cannot delete it for you. Google describes its own handling at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are actually read and roughly where readers arrive from, so that we know what to build and write more of. We run it in its standard configuration.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and reports to Google the pages you view, the page that referred you, your device and browser characteristics, and an approximate location. That location is derived from your IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not retain the address itself.
We see only aggregate reports — counts of visits, pages, and countries. We have not enabled user-ID tracking or Google signals, we never attempt to identify an individual reader, and we do not combine analytics data with anything else.
- Google publishes a browser add-on that switches Google Analytics off everywhere, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Blocking cookies for this Site in your browser settings also prevents analytics cookies from being set.
- Every module demonstration works normally with analytics blocked. Nothing on the Site depends on it.
Demo data stored in your browser
Several module demonstrations on this Site let you add, edit, and delete sample records — invoices, employees, purchase orders, shipments, and similar. So that your changes survive a page refresh, the Site saves them using your browser's local storage.
This information stays on your own device. It is not transmitted to us, it is not sent to any third party, and we have no means of reading it. It is sample data in any case: every record shipped with the demos is fictional.
You can erase it at any time by clearing site data for potenz.tech in your browser settings, or by using the reset control provided inside the module demos. See our Cookie Policy for step-by-step guidance.
How we use information
Where we do hold personal information — in practice, email correspondence — we use it only to:
- Respond to your enquiry and carry on the resulting conversation.
- Keep business records of our communications and any resulting agreement.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Site and investigate suspected abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations that apply to us.
Disclosure of information
We do not sell personal information for money. We do serve Google advertising, and where that advertising is personalised, California law treats the resulting flow of information to Google as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can turn that off — see Your privacy rights below. Apart from advertising, we may disclose information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf in order to run the Site and deliver our mail. They are bound by contract to use it only for that purpose.
- Legal requirements. Where we are required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Data retention
We keep email correspondence for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was sent, and thereafter for as long as we need it for legitimate business records or to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.
Server logs are retained by our hosting provider according to its own retention schedule, which is typically a short rolling window.
Your privacy rights
We aim to honour the following rights for any reader who asks, wherever they live, rather than only where a particular statute happens to compel us. In relation to personal information we hold about you:
- The right to know what personal information we hold and to request a copy of it.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- The right to request deletion of your information, subject to our legal obligations.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell it. To stop the sharing involved in personalised advertising, use Google My Ad Center at myadcenter.google.com, or write to us and we will tell you what else is available to you.
- The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@potenz.tech. We may need to ask you for information to verify your identity before we act, which in practice usually means replying from the address that corresponds with us. We do not charge for this and we aim to respond within 30 days.
EEA and UK readers. Where we hold personal information about you, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence we receive, or your consent where you have given it. You have the right to object to that processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because Potenz is a sole proprietorship below the relevant thresholds, we have not appointed a Data Protection Officer or an EU representative.
Australian readers. We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it; you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, we confirm that we have not sold personal information for monetary consideration, and have not collected or processed sensitive personal information, in the preceding twelve months. Serving personalised advertising does constitute sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and the opt-out described above applies to it. California residents may also designate an authorised agent to make a request on their behalf.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers transmit a Do Not Track signal, and there is still no common standard for how sites should respond to it. We perform no tracking of our own for it to suppress. We cannot make that promise on Google’s behalf for the advertising it serves, so rather than imply a protection we do not control, we point you to the advertising opt-outs listed in our Cookie Policy, which do take effect.
Children's privacy
The Site is a business software demonstration. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Because we do not operate accounts, databases of customer records, or payment processing on this Site, the attack surface for your personal information is deliberately small.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us by email.
International visitors
The Site is operated from Pakistan. If you write to us from anywhere else, your message is transferred to, stored, and read in Pakistan, whose data protection law differs from that of the EEA, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States.
For readers in the EEA or the United Kingdom, this matters in a specific way: Pakistan is not the subject of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or the UK government. We do not ask you to send us anything, and the Site collects nothing from you by itself. Where you choose to email us, that transfer happens because you initiated it in order to reach us, and you can avoid it entirely by not writing to us.
The Google products described in this policy are operated by Google, not by us, and Google handles its own international transfers under its own safeguards. Our hosting provider serves the Site from a global network of edge locations, which typically means the copy you read was delivered from somewhere near you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be made prominent on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
